The
Meal on Wheels program provides a hot, nutritious
meal to seniors who are no longer able to prepare their own
meals. Frozen meals are also available for evenings and weekends.
In addition to bringing meals, our drivers check on the well being of our participants.
The requirements to qualify for the Meal-on-Wheels
program are as follows:
- Must be homebound
- Must be 60 years or older
- Has difficulty preparing meals
- Must be unable to attend Senior Lunch program
or Dining Center.
- Has no one willing or able to cook for him/her
Then, five days a week, you can look forward to
seeing one of our dedicated volunteer drivers bring a meal and a smile right to your door.
This program could not operate without the dedicated
service of nearly 200 caring volunteers. Please consider becoming
a volunteer!
Funding for this program is provided by participant
contributions, Title III of the Older Americans Act, the State of
Wisconsin, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Lincoln Lutheran
holds the Senior Nutrition Program contract with the Racine County
Human Services Department.
